Vernon Police: Plow Drivers Get Into a Brawl at Shopping Plaza Parking Lot

One wound up with charges, police said.

So what did one plow driver do to the other?

Vernon police found out it was no joking matter on Saturday when they responded to a fracas between two operators at the Tri-City Plaza parking lot just before 7 p.m.

According to an arrest report, the incident began when two plow drivers from the same company began arguing over gasoline for their respective trucks.

One driver was accused to taking too long to come back froma gas run and was accused by the other driver of takingon a side job, police said.

One plow driver, operating a larger truck, pushed "a mountain of snow" over a smaller truck, which was being driven by his co-worker, police said.

The driver then punched the other driver in the head and face and hit him with a can of de-icer, police said. Police then arrested him for second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, possession of a dangerous instrument  and second-degree threatening, an incident report indicates.

Police did not elaborate on the weapon.

The man charged was identified as George Lindinger, 47, of 103 Hickory Dr., Coventry. He spent the rest of the weekend in the Vernon Police Department lockup on a $5,000 bond and is due in court on Monday, police said.
