Vernon Police Make Several Thanksgiving Weekend Arrests

Arrests for Thursday through Sunday.

Benjamin Terrel Ivery, 29, of 1170 Hartford Turnpike, was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree strangulation and second-degree breach of peace at 4:56 p.m. on Sunday. 

Police received a domestic violence complaint about him, a report states.

Sara Kachnowski, 19, was charged in Friday with failure to pay a $300 infraction, police said. 

A warrant was issued for her arrest and she was picked up during a traffic stop, police said. 

• 

An Ellington woman was charged with driving under the influence and a lane violation after a traffic stop on the northbound side of Route 83 at 1:18 a.m. on Saturday, police said. 

Tami Williams, 45, of 1 Hughes Circle, Ellington was arrested after being pulled over for making an improper lane change, police said. 

She is due in court on Dec. 9, police said.

Police and firefighters responded to a var versus motorcycle crash at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Hartford Turnpike and Dobson Road. 

The driver of the bike was taken to a local hospital to get a broken leg treated, police said.

Marlin Lawrence, 42, was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, sixth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct and third-degree burglary on Friday, police said. 

A warrant had been issued for his arrest, police said. 

Lawrence lives at 86 Sharon St., Hartford, according to police records.
