Vernon Mother Who Triggered Amber Alert Charged Again

She triggered a multi-state Amber Alert in May.

Vernon police say Jackie Morris, 32, allegedly violated her protective order when she attempted to see her children at a house in Vernon on Thursday, NBC 30 reports.

If you’ll recall Morris was part of a multi-state Amber Alert in May when she drove to Maine with her three boys instead of returning them to her father, Patch reported at the time.

Morris was charged Thursday with three counts of violating her protective order and stalking, NBC 30 reports.

In May the kids and Morris were found in a Maine hotel. Police at the time said Morris does not have custody of her children, and did not return them to their biological father after a scheduled visit.

While police said at the time there was no reason to believe the brothers were in physical danger, the boys — Ryan, 9, and 7-year-old twins Brandon and Dylan — did not show up at school on Monday or Tuesday of that week. And Connecticut State Police changed an initial Silver Alert to an Amber Alert because of the mother's mental health.
