Vernon Man Injured In Motorcycle Crash Sunday

Driver taken to Backus Hospital after crash on Route 214 at Avery Hill Road in Ledyard

A Vernon man received "multiple injuries" Sunday night after he crashed his motorcyle on Route 214 at Avery Hill Road, Ledyard police reported.

David M Oterson, 52, of 6 Grandview Terrace, Vernon, was found by emergency responders in the road, where he had apparently crashed the 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle at around 6:28 p.m.

Lt. Michael T. Finkelstein said Oterson "was found to have received multiple injuries and was transported to the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich by the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad."

The Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, and American Ambulance paramedic also responded.
