Vernon Man Charged With Drug-Related Offenses on a Warrant Arrest

The East Central Narcotics Task Force arrests him at his apartment.

A Vernon man was in a jail cell on Thursday night after a raid by the East Central Narcotics Task Force landed him with cocaine-related charges, according to a task force news release. 

At 10 p.m. on Thursday, Vernon and task force officer went to 1238 Hartford Turnpike - the Sleeping Giant apartment complex - to serve a warrant at unit 105, according to a task force news release. 

The target was Charles Rivard Jr., who police learned was selling cocaine "in and around Vernon," according to a task force news release. He was taken into custody without incident, according to a task force news release.

Rivard, who lives at the apartment, was charged with three counts of cocaine possession, three counts of the sale of cocaine and operating a motor vehicle without a license, according to a task force news release. 

He was being held Thursday night on a $105,000 surety bond, according to a task force news release.
