Vernon Man Involved In January Domestic Violence Incident Faces New Charges

Frank Frazier, 40, was arrested by police at a traffic stop on Maple Street and charged with violating a protective order.

A Vernon man with a history of domestic violence charges is facing more charges.

On Sunday, Frank Frazier, 40,  was arrested at a traffic stop on Maple Street and charged with violating a protective order against his girlfriend, police said. Police said he has been ordered not to have contact with the woman.

Frazier's current address is listed in police records as 15 Linden Place.

He was released on a $2,500 bond was was to appear in Vernon Superior Court Tuesday.

In early January, Frazier was involved in a car ride that began in Manchester and sped its way through Vernon and left him facing domestic violence charges.

Vernon police said they were called to a home at 197 Terrace Drive at 1:52 p.m. on Tuesday after a woman called them to register a domestic violence complaint. She said she and her boyfriend, Frazier, were ''separating'' and that things turned violent when he tried to convince her to remain together.

They were both living at 197 Terrace Drive at the time, police said.

A police spokesman said that when Vernon officers arrived at the home, they learned that Frazier went to his girlfriend's workplace in Manchester to drive her back to Vernon for a vehicle exchange.

Police did not disclose the business or the woman's name.

Police said that, during the trip, the woman asked Frazier to let her out of the vehicle and he held her arm to prevent that from happening.

He then sped through Vernon at high rates of speed and threatened to kill his girlfriend, police said. The woman continued trying to escape and Frazier broke off the passenger-side door hand to thwart her, police said.

Police said Frazier also broke her cell phone.

Police said that, after an hour, Frazier drove her to the Terrace Drive home when the woman said she would not call police. She then went to a neighbor's house to call authorities, police said.

In that incident, Frazier was charged with first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree threatening, breach of peace, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief and reckless driving.
