He allegedly made comments to co-workers about "shooting up the place," a report says.

Updated Dec. 20, 10:39 a.m.

A Vernon man has been charged with making potentially violent threats against his workplace, an arrest report indicates.

Stephen Daugherty, 55, of 82 Riverside Dr., was taken into custody at 4:29 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

He was being held on a $100,000 bond while awaiting a Thursday court appearance, police said.

He has been charged with threatening and breach of peace, both in the second degree, police said.

Police said that Daugherty, an employee at Scranton Motors on Route 83, allegedly made some comments to co-workers about "shooting up the place," police said.

Officers seized 15 firearms from Daugherty's house, although he was not in possession of any guns at the time of his arrest, police said.

Software problems at the police station on Thursday morning prevented the distribution of Daugherty's mug shot.
