Two Injured in South Windsor Accident Near Vernon Town Line

Two drivers had to be extricated by fire department personnel.

South Windsor police are investigating a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Kelly Road at the Vernon town line at 6 p.m. Friday evening.  

The accident involved three vehicles, two of which struck head on, according to Chief of Police Matthew Reed in a press release.

The drivers of two of the cars had to be extricated by South Windsor fire department personnel, Reed said.  

Both drivers, whose identities were not available, were transported to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford with injuries described as non-life threatening, Reed said. The driver of a third car was not injured, according to Reed.

Police and firefighters from Vernon also responded to assist at the scene, Reed said.

"Members of the Metro Traffic Services accident investigation team remain on the scene investigating and documenting the crash scene," Reed said.
