Trip to Walgreens Costly for Vernon Woman

She is facing a DUI charge.

A Vernon woman is facing DUI and drug charges aftr a wayward trip to Walgreens early on Monday, police said.

Police said that at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Alexandra Sophia Karamesinis, 25, of 20 Lawler Rd., pulled into the Walgreens parking lot at 529 Talcottville Rd. while drunk.

While attempting to park her vehicle, she hit another parked vehicle, police said.Police said Karamesinis first admitted to drinking alcohol and then failed a field sobriety test.

Marijuana was also found at the scene, police said. 

She is charged with DUI and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana and is due in court on Sept. 19, police said.
