Trip to McDonald's Was a Bust for Hartford Men, Police Said

The East Central Narcotics Task Force was set up in Vernon on Thursday.

A drug transaction at a local fast food restaurant on Thursday was not all it was cracked up to be for a pair of Hartford men.

The men are facing drug charges after a bust by the East Central Narcotics Task Force at the McDonald's on Talcottville Road.

Task force members set up a buy/bust operation at the restaurant at 5:30 p.m., according to a task force news release. The target was a crack cocaine dealer named Adrian Thomas.

Task force members seized 10.5 grams of crack and $910 in cash from the 22-year-old Thomas, the news release states.

Thomas was charged with cocaine possession and the sale of cocaine and slapped with a $50,000 bond, police said.

The driver of the vehicle in the parking lot, 32-year-old Meschac Hercules, was charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine and sell it, according to a news release.

The task force is made up of officers from Vernon, Manchester, South Windsor and Glastonbury.
