Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug Charges

Police also respond to domestics.

A Suffield man is facing drug charges after a motor vehicle stop in town early this morning, police said.

Police stopped Timothy Caruthers, 26, of 92 Brandywine Lane, Suffield, at 1:40 a.m. because he was misusing a marker plate, according to an arrest report. An officer also discovered that two outstanding warrants against him, police said.

Both Caruthers and his vehicle were searched during the stop and both narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered, police said.

He was transported to Vernon police headquarters and charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, narcotics possession and the use of drug paraphernalia, police said.

He was released on a $500 bond to Wethersfield police, according to an arrest report. For the Vernon charges, he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13, police said.



A Vernon woman is facing second-degree breach of peace and interfering charges aft a domestic incident Wednesday night, police said.

At 8:13 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to an incident at 27 West Main St. between 30-year-old Jessica Diaz and her boyfriend, according to an arrest report.

Diaz lives at 10 Orchard St., police said. She was arrested and released on a $500 bond and is due in court on Dec. 13, police said.  



Loraine Nickle, 28, of 172 Terrace Dr., is facing a second-degree breach of peace charge after an incident at 7:03 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

She was released on a $500 bond and is slated for a court appearance today, police said.
