Tolland Man Facing Insurance Violation Related to October Rear-End Collision

State Police pulled him over on Monday and he was taken to Vernon PD.

Police said a Tolland man must answer to an insurance violation charge related to a Vernon rear-end collision in October, according to an arrest report.

Ryan Bouchard, 25, of 460 Old Stafford Rd., Tolland, was taken into custody on Monday, police said.

Vernon police said Bouchard was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Oct. 27. Bouchard had presented an insurance card to the officer at the time of the accident, police said.

Bouchard was cited for traveling too fast for conditions after his car rear-ended another vehicle, police said. About two weeks after the accident, the investigating officer was informed that Bouchard did not have valid insurance, an arrest report indicates.

An arrest warrant was prepared for Bouchard and he was taken into custody after a traffic stop by state police, according to an arrest report.

He was charged with failure to maintain insurance and was released on a written promise to appear in court on May 29, police said.
