Teen on Bike, Car Collide on Grove Street

No major injuries were reported by police.

Emergency personnel rushed to the corner of Hartford Turnpike and Grove Street at about 4 p.m. on Friday after a teenager riding a bicycle was stuck by a car.

The accident took place on the north side of Grove Street, several car lengths from the intersection. The boy was sitting up and alert as he was receiving medical treatment at the scene. He was taken to Rockville General Hospital with minor injuries, a police spokesman said.

The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed. A police spokesman said the driver was "a little shaken up" over the incident, but unhurt as well.

The bike remained on the road, several feet from a dented car, while Police tried to pice together what had happened. The scene was cleared in about an hour.
