Task Force Makes Coke Bust

Alleged dealer picked up at Glastonbury McDonald's.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force, which consists of officers from Vernon, Manchester, Glastonbury and South Windsor, broke up a cocaine operation on Thursday, according to a news release.

On Thursday at about 6 p.m., members of the task force were conducting a surveillance/apprehension operation in the parking lot of the McDonald's on Main Street in Glastonbury, according to a news release.

Task force members received information that a black male going by the street name of “Stokes” was going to arrive in the lot to sell cocaine, police said. Task force members set up surveillance and took Stokes - Christopher Kinsey - into custody when he arrived in the lot, according the news release. Task force members seized over a gram of powder cocaine, and more than $300 in cash off of Kinsey during the arrest, according to the release.

Kinsey is 29 and lives at 30 Auburn St., Hartford, police said.

Police said his charges are possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell.

His bond was se at $20,000, police said.  

Task force members will be applying for an additional warrant for Kinsey, charging him with sale and possession of cocaine, according to the news release.
