The East Central Narcotics Task Force on Tuesday executed a search warrant at a first-floor apartment at 55 School St. and took two residents into custody on drug charges, a task force news release indicates.
Task force officers had developed information that "narcotic activity" was taking place at the address and obtained sufficient evidence to secure a search warrant for the premises, according to a news release.
Task force officers executed the search warrant and seized a small amount of crack cocaine and paraphernalia. The residents, Herald Rodriguez and Jennifer Bazzano, were arrested. Task force members also served an arrest warrant on Rodriguez for Sale and Possession of Cocaine that occurred in Manchester.
Both live in the apartment, police said.
Police said the charges against Rodriguez, 47, are:
• Possession of cocaine.
• Possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Possession of cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school.
• Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.
Bond: $5,000, non-surety (warrant for sale and possession of cocaine, $100,000 court-set).
Police said the charges against Bazzano, 41, are:
• Possession of cocaine.
• Possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Possession of cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school.
• Possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.
Bond: $5,000, non-surety.
The East Central Narcotics Task Force is made up of officers from Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon, and Glastonbury.
