State Police Issue Nearly 1,300 Tickets So Far

Holiday enforcement efforts to last through Monday.

By late afternoon on Sunday, State Police had issued nearly 1,300 speeding tickets as part of the Fourth of July weekend enforcement efforts.

Here is a rundown of State Police activity as of 3 p.m. on Sunday:

• Accidents Investigated: 211.

• Accidents with with injury: 29.

• Fatal accidents: Zero.

• Seat belt tickets issued: 105.

• Speeding tickets  issued: 1,296.

• Drunken driving arrests: 50.

State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance said the enforcement efforts, including sobriety checkpoints and additional patrols, will continue through Monday.
