Police: Vernon Man Wrecks His Apartment During a Domestic Dispute
A neutral party had to remove the man's children during the incident, police said.
A Vernon man went berserk during a domestic dispute and is facing a book load of charges as a result, according to an arrest report.
At 10:18 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to 65 High St., apt. b, for a domestic dispute and arrested Lawrence Saunders, 27, who lives at the address, an arrest report indicates.
Saunders is charged with assaulting an officer, second-degree breach of peace, third-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and two counts of risk of injury to a child, according to an arrest report.
Police said Saunders damaged a good portion of his apartment in a rage and someone not involved in the dispute had to remove his children from the apartment for their safety.
He also fought with police officers and damaged a police cruiser while being arrested, according to an arrest report.
He was held overnight on a $25,000 bond while awaiting a Thursday court appearance, police said.
