Police: Storm Causes Five Crashes

An on-street parking ban was to be in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.

Five traffic accidents took place during the snowstorm that hit town between Thursday and Friday Vernon police said.
 
There were no major injuries, police said.

The first took place at 6 a.m. on Thursday near the intersection of Dart Hill and Talcottville roads.
 
Later in the morning, a car and private snowplow collided, police said. Those involved exchanged information at the scene and did not call police until after noon, according to VPD records.
 
Two more crashes occurred between 2 and 3 p.m., police said - one on private property at  219 Talcottville Road and another at 24 Hickory Hill.

Police said at 6:30 p.m., a vehicle hit a utility pole near 36 Fox Hill Dr. The road was closed for about two hours while the pole and wires were repaired, police said. 

Police said an on-street parking ban was to be in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.
