A Vernon man on parole spent Thursday night in jail without bail after he was found with a collection of drugs at a local apartment complex, police said.
A Vernon police spokesman said that at 9 p.m. on Thursday, parole officers contacted the department for assistance in finding Brandon Gamble, 36, who was not at his apartment complex at 59 Parkwest Dr. when they arrived to check on him.
Gamble was located in a car at the complex and several plastic sandwich-type bags were found inside the vehicle containing a powdery white substance believed to be heroin, police said.
Gamble also had prescription pills on him, police said.
His charges include failure to keep drugs in their original container, narcotics possession and possession of a hallucinogen, police said.
His parole was revoked and Gamble was held without bond at the VPD while awaiting a Friday court appearance.
