Police: Man Stabbed in Rockville Incident

Police were summoned to the hospital on Thursday night.

Vernon police are investigating an overnight stabbing. 

On Thursday at 11:39 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person with a stab wound at Rockville General Hospital.  

When they arrived at RGH, officers found a 22-year-old man who had been stabbed in the torso, according to a news release. He was being treated by the emergency room staff, according to a news release, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

Through their investigations, police learned the stabbing took place on North Park Street earlier in the night between 10 and 10:30, a VPD spokesman said. The male suspect is being described as Hispanic, in his 30s, wearing shorts and a dark sweatshirt.  

He is believed to have fled the scene on foot.

The case remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information can call Vernon police at 860-872-9126. Callers may remain anonymous.
