A Vernon man is due in court on Sept. 3 after police found him in the middle of a Rockville street after a melee, according to an incident report.
William Gauthier, 34, of 108 Prospect St., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and interfering after the incident, which took place at 12:23 a.m. on Sunday, police said.
Police were called to the scene of a large fight at the intersection of Prospect and Ward streets that night, according an an incident report. Officers found Gauthier visibly agitated and walking in the middle of the road, police said. He was asked to stop several times and repeatedly refused and tried to get away from officers, according to an incident report.
After struggling with police, he had to be subdued with a Taser, according to an incident report.
A subsequent investigation determined that Gauthier started the fight, police said.
He was released on a $10,000 bond and assigned the Sept. 3 court date, police said.
