Police Make Weekend Drunken Driving Arrests

One man was taken to the hospital, police said.

Vernon police made four arrests for driving under the influence over the Veterans Day weekend, records show.

On Saturday at 5:03 p.m., Brandon Harper, 31, of 80 Luchon Rd., Willington, was pulled over for a traffic violation, police said.

He was suspected of DUI, police said.

Harper was also charged with an insurance violation, police said.


Just 70 minutes later, Robert McCabe, 52, of 706 Griffin Rd., South Windsor, was charged with DUI, operating a vehicle without insurance, a lane violation and operating an unregistered vehicle, police said.

He is due in court on Nov. 19, police said.

Police were called to the parking lot of the Free Spirit Cafe on Kelly Road at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday for a minor car crash, according to an arrest report. Shaun McGovern, 41, of 125 South St., was charged with DUI and was taken to Rockville General Hospital for observation  after making repeated suicidal comments, police said.

He is due ion court on NOv. 19, police said.

Rachel Mindy Dyer, 19, was charged with DUI at 3:25 a.m. on Friday. She is due in court on Nov, 19, police said. She lives at 64 Country View Dr., South Windsor, police said.
