Police Make DUI Arrests Over Labor Day Weekend

Three are taken into custody.

Vernon police made three arrests for driving under the influence over the Labor Day weekend.

On Monday at 6:40 p.m., police pulled over Jeanne Caine, 54, off 17 Talcott Ave., for making an improper lane change, according to an arrest report.

While questioning Caine, police determined she had been driving while intoxicated, according to the report.

In addition to the moving violation, she was charged with DUI and driving without a license, police said. She is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.

At 4:15 a.m. on Monday, Erik William Hutchinson was involved in a traffic accident, police said. He initially fled the scene and later returned, according to an arrest report.

Hutchinson, 18, lives at 29 Chestnut St., police said.

Police said he failed a series of field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

He was charged with DUI, making an improper lane change, evading responsibility and failing to carry a registration or insurance card, police said.

He is due in court on Sept. 19, police said.

Joshua Janton, 30, was arrested for DUI at 2:37 a.m. on Sunday after a traffic stop in town, police said,

He lives at 155 Laurel St., South Windsor, police said.

He failed a series of field sobriety tests during the stop, police said.

Janton is  due in court on Sept. 12 to answer charges of DUI, failure to carry a tinted glass sticker, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
