Police Make Arrest at Courthouse

Man also surrenders on a warrant.

At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Bayron Jose Ramos, 25, of 13 Hicksville Rd., Cromwell, was being detained at  the Tolland County Superior Courthouse in Rockville.

Vernon police arrived and arrested him on several charges:

• Carrying a dangerous weapon.

• Conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.

• Fourth-degree larceny.

• First-degree robbery.

The investigation into his case is ongoing, police said.

He is being held on a $75,000 bond, according to an arrest report.



At 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Rolando Ortiz, 19, surrendered at the Vernon Police Department to face a charge that he engaged police in a pursuit, according to an arrest report.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest, police said.

Ortiz, of 39 Orchard St., is also charged with speeding, operating a motor vehicle under an alcohol-related suspension, the improper use of a motor vehicle marker, interfering, and driving a motorcycle without a license.
