Police: Local Man Had to be Talked out of Woman's Apartment

He'll now be in court for Valentine's Day, police said.

A 23-year-old Vernon man is bringing an expensive Valentine's Day card to court after a domestic incident at a woman's house on Wednesday, police said.

He was being held overnight on a $50,000 bond while awaiting a Thursday appearance, police said.

The incident took place at 9:25 Wednesday night at the Vernon Gardens apartment complex at 695 Talcottville Rd, police said. Matthew Kennedy was at the woman's house despite a protective order, according to an arrest report.

Officers coordinated their efforts, surrounded the area and detectives negotiated with Kennedy and his mother for him to come out, which he eventually did, according to an arrest report.

Kennedy, who lives at 81 Grand Ave., was charged with violating a protective order, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of risk of injury to a child, police said.

Although most of the conversations are about reminiscing yester-year we do have quite the size crowd. Currently we stand at 2080 members & we add approx 10 new members a week.
