Police: It was Double Trouble for A Woman After Her Arrest

She was wanted in two states, police said.

A Vernon woman is facing charges both locally and in the Ocean State after being arrested on Tuesday, police said.

On Tuesday at about 8:15 a.m., Vernon officers went to 31 Rainbow Trail and arrested Aryana A. Eskandani, 21, of that address, on an outstanding warrant, a police spokesman said.

She was wanted in Connecticut. Eskandani was arrested without incident and transported to Vernon police headquarters, a police spokesman said.

While Eskandani was being processed on the Connecticut warrant, Vernon police learned that she was wanted by law enforcement authorities in Rhode Island on a felony-extraditable arrest warrant for narcotics-related charges, a police spokesman said.

She was wanted by South Kingston, RI, police and her extradition was approved by the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, which requested that Eskandani be charged as a fugitive from justice, a police spokesman said.

Locally, Eskandani was charged with one count of first-degree failure to appear and as a fugitive from justice for the Rhode Island charges. She was to be arraigned on Wednesday after being held overnight, a police spokesman said.

The FTA warrant stemmed from Eskandani failing to show up in Rockville Superior Court on March 19 to answer to the original charges of second- and first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct from an incident on Aug. 21 at 39 Wilson Lane, in Vernon, police said.
