Police Intercept Suspected Drunken Driver at CVS

Police said the driver was witnessed crossing the line.

A 41-year-old South Windsor man is facing DUI and driving in an improper lane charges after his vehicle was seen drifting on Talcottville Road early Sunday morning, police said.

Police said that at 2:17 a.m. on Sunday, they received a complaint of an erratic driver who had just pulled into a gas station a the Intersection of Talcottville  and Thrall roads.

Police arrived to see the vehicle pull out of the gas station, head south on Talcottville Road, and cross both a yellow dividing line and white lane markers, according to an arrest report.

The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Talcottvlle and Pitkin roads, at the CVS Pharmacy, police said.

Craig Russell, of 141 Lisa Dr., South Windsor, was released on a $500 bond after he made arrangements for a ride home and is due in court on Aug. 29, police said.
