Police Identify Man Killed in Accident on Route 30 Friday Night

The road was shut down for about four hours.

Police have identified the man killed in an accident that closed Route 30 for about four hours Friday night as Gerald Macfeat of Stafford Springs.

According to Vernon Police Sgt. Luke Gallant, at about 9:07 p.m. Friday, a motorcycle being driven by Macfeat collided with a large pickup truck. Macfeat was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation.
