He was held on Saturday and Sunday nights on a $50,000 bond, police said.
A homeless man spent the weekend in the Vernon Police Department lockup after incidents at Rockville General Hospital and in the surrounding neighborhood, according to a police report.
Courtney McCollum, a Vernon man with no known address, was charged with resisting arrest, attempted assault on a police officer and second-degree breach of peace, according to an incident report.
At 4:47 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the hospital to assist personnel with an unruly patient, according to a police report.
Officers were able to calm McCollum down and he was discharged, according to a police report.
A short time later, McCollum called 911 and was making threats to a dispatcher, police said. Earlier that night, he was mentioning possibly holding up a store and breaking into homes, police said.
Officers tried to talk to McCollum on Ward Street and he began to wrestle with them and fled the scene, according to a police report. He was chased down on Oak Street and had to be subdued with a Taser, police said.
He was held on Saturday and Sunday nights on a $50,000 bond and was to appear on court on Monday, police said.
