Arrest Tally Hits Eight in Stabbing Incident

More charges expected to be filed, police said.

Vernon police have now made eight arrests in connection with a stabbing incident in Rockville a week ago.

The stabbing took place during a brawl on April 19 near the intersection of Ward and Union streets. Two men have already been charged with rioting in a disturbance at Rockville General Hospital, where the victim was initially taken before being transported to Hartford Hospital, police said.

With a stab wound to the chest and no ambulance immediately available, the victim was carefully transported to Rockville General Hospital on the hood of a police cruiser.

Officers held him steady and worked on him during the short ride.

Here are the details of the eight new arrests, released late Thursday:

• Lisa Gilbert, 40, of 162 West Main Street, in the Rockville section of Vernon, was charged with attempt to possess narcotics, attempt to sell narcotics and sixth-degree larceny.

• Robert Haskell, aka "T" of 108 Main Street, East Windsor, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, third-degree assault, two counts of attempt to commit second-degree assault, false statement second degree and second-degree breach of peace. Haskell is the victim of the stabbing. 

• Malcolm Atwater, 45, aka Malik Atwater, of 275 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of Peace 2nd degree. He was one of the two initially charged.

• Kelly Goding, of 25 Linden Place, in the Rockville section of Vernon, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful Assembly, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Goding's age was not given.

• Joseph H. King III, 22, who lives in Rockville but at an unknown address, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault, attempt to commit third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

• Generio Jones aka "G" of 11 Lawrence St. in the Rockville section of Vernon, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He is 21 and is the other one who was initially charged.

• Kristina Kloo, 22, of 45 Vernon Ave., Apt 1 in the Rockville section of Vernon, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

• Sylvester "Frank" Gillespie, 40, of 85 Old Town Rd., Vernon, was charged with first-degree rioting, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful assembly, criminal attempt to commit second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

All were held overnight and are due in court on Friday, police said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
