SUV versus pedestrian crash that killed a 20-year-old Vernon resident is still under investigation.Vernon police on Monday said Friday's
Officers from Metro Traffic Services are still investigating what happened. A preliminary police report indicates a local couple had just left home to get some food when the crash took place.
The local school system is offering grief counseling for students and staff members who knew Joshua Jarrell and know his family.
Jarrell was killed on Friday night after being hit by a sport utility vehicle near Adam's Polish Foods. A makeshift roadside memorial has been set up by mourners.

"The Vernon public schools would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family of Joshua Jarrell," Superintendent of Schools Mary Conway said.
Jarrell attended RHS from 2009 through 2011.
Route 83 was closed from just after 7:30 to just after 11:30 p.m.
