Police Break Up Pair of Early Morning Disturbances

Some of the same people involved in both.

Vernon police broke up two large disturbances in Rockville early this morning.

The first incident took place at 12:01 a.m. According to a news release, calls came into the Vernon Police Department about a large fight at the 7-Eleven at 180 Union Street. Callers reported that a male was swinging something during the incident, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 10 people in the parking lot causing a disturbance, according to a news release. Several of those involved in the fight reportedly were members of the Latin Kings street gang, police said.

Police could not determine exactly what started the disturbance, according to a news release.

Several people were issued infraction tickets for creating a public disturbance:

• Cloyd J. Lee Jr., 35, of 17 Regan St., Vernon.

• Justin Ronbinson, 19, of 118 West Main St., Vernon.

• Rafael Baez, 18 of 64 Vernon Ave., Vernon.

• Edwin Quiles, 19, of 154 Forrest St., East Hartford.

• Yamil Cortes-Bonilla, 18 of 14 Orchard Terrace, East Hartford.

• Felipe Rivera, 20, of 29 Delmont Road, East Hartford.

• Roberto Alicia, 19, of 170 West Center St., Manchester.

One 17-year-old was issued a ticket.

The tickets carry a fine $103 and can be mailed in.

The second took place at 2:23 a.m. and involved some of the same people involved in the 7-Eleven incident.

Vernon police said they received a call about a group of males walking toward a park on West Main Street.

Police said a caller reported that one of the males had a gun and was forcing another male to walk with the group. Officers found eight males huddled along a wall, which was hiding them from the street. The males were detained but no gun was found, police said. They all knew each other and nobody was in the park against his will, police said.

All parks close at sunset and police said they issued infractions for simple trespass. They carry a $92 fine.

Police said those receiving tickets were:

• Quiles.

• Rivera.

• Cortes-Bonilla.

• Felipe Rivera.

• Alicia.

• Anthony Parker, 30, of 85 Vernon Ave., Vernon.
