Police Say Woman Found Dead Over the Weekend Was Living in the Woods

Police release her identity.

The 51-year-old woman found in the woods behind the McDonald's off Reservoir Road on Friday died of natural causes, Vernon police said.

Police said this morning they never suspected that the death of Tammy Kight was suspicious. An autopsy performed over the weekend determined that Kight had a heart condition and died naturally, police said.

Kight had been living in the woods behind the McDonald's with several  other people, police said.

According to Vernon police, the woman's boyfriend called someone about her condition, leading to police notification. Police said that her body was found far off in the woods behind the McDonald's off exit 67 on Intrerstate-84.

Reservoir Road is also state Route 31.
