A Vernon woman who had been missing since early Tueseday morning has been found in Rockville, Police Chief James Kenny said tonight.
At about 8:15 p.m., Kenny confirmed that Marianne MacKinnon was found on Grand Avenue this evening.
She was transported to Rockville General Hospital under heavy security.
Kenny said she was alive but he did not want to guess at her condition.
An Eastern Connecticut Health Network security guard would only offer a terse "no comment'' at the emergency room entrance when asked for details.
Police had been searching the area vigorously for the 30-year-old MacKinnon. She was last seen at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday at a local convenience store. She is employed as a dancer at Sweet Hearts gentlemen's club on Route 83.
A search party had been formed tonight to assist authorities in the efforts to locate MacKinnon. People were also standing outside the 7-Eleven on Union Street tonight with posters asking for help in the search.
A Facebook page entitled "Finding Marianne MacKinnon" has 1,635 members.
Friends and family members were concerned for her safety because she had left without her two children and valuables she normally would take with her wherever she went.
Police said friends and family indicated it was "completely out of character'' for her to leave without notice.
