A Coventry woman reported missing on Tuesday has been found and is "physically OK," according to police.
Officers would not elaborate on where 35-year-old Monica King was found, only saying that she was seen by friends and relatives who were driving "in the area."
According to the Hartford Courant, King had been involved in a car accident on I-84 earlier Tuesday. King hadn’t been seen after 10 a.m. Tuesday morning after allegedly being brought home by a friend, according to the Courant story.
She was reported missing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Early Wednesday, family friend Liz Doll posted an emotional plea on the Manchester Patch Facebook page asking the public to help find King, saying that it is “wildly out of character” for her to be gone for so long.
Coventry police led the search for King, which involved dozens of other mutual aid resources, volunteers and Coventry citizens since early Wednesday afternoon. King was located just before 8:30 p.m., about six hours after search groups began to organize.
King had been last seen at her Carol Drive home on Tuesday at about 10 a.m. Police described King as 5-foot-1, 160 pounds, with long black hair and blue eyes.
King was reported to have been wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt, police said. She was possibly even wearing a "Panther" football jacket with green and gold lettering, police said. The back of the jacket has a football design with the words "Coventry Football" embroidered on the design.
After being located, King was taken into custody and charged on a warrant for failure to appear in court on the charge of operating a motor vehicle under suspension with a court set bond of $4,000, police said.
Police added that King was unaware that the warrant was on file and it played no role in her disappearance.
Police said King indicated she stayed in a wooded area overnight near the Willimantic River in a location area accessible off Route 32.
Police said they will not be commenting on the reason for her disappearance.
King has mild diabetes and a mild heart condition, police said.
