Man Faces Felony Sexual Assault Charge in Vernon

Matthew Frazier, of Somers, is reportedly accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl, police said.

Police in Vernon have charged 22-year-old Somers man with sexual assault.

Matthew Joseph Frazier, of 93 Sokol Road in Somers, has already been incarcerated in Hartford on multiple charges, and while appearing in Rockville Superior Court on Monday Vernon police charged Frazier with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, criminal violation of a restraining order and perjury, court officials told Patch.


Police said Frazier sexually assault of a 15-year-old girl on March 28 in Vernon. 

Police added a $10,000 cash bond to Frazier's record due to the above charges, court officials said. He is scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 1.

Frazier was previously facing 79 counts of criminal violation of protective order: threatening or trespassing, as well as a count of second-degree stalking and others. The most recent court records indicate some of those charge have been reduced.

In a December 2012 incident, he was arrested after a trooper responded to a report of a missing 16-year-old girl who left her home residence via an open bedroom window. An investigation led to the arrest of Frazier for violation of a protective order.

In August of 2012, he was charged with breach of peace and criminal violation of a protective order when the victim, a 17-year-old female.
