Man Charged With Assault After Alleged Crack-Smoking Incident

A warrant was issued by the court, police said.

A Vernon man allegedly assaulted a woman during what police are describing as "a session of crack smoking" and is now facing a criminal charge, according to an arrest report.

Joseph Carroll, 45, was taken into custody at 1:50 a.m. this morning and charged with third-degree assault, an arrest report indicates.

Vernon police had obtained a court-issued warrant for his arrest, according to the report.

His bond was set at $500, police said. Carroll is listed as living at 70 Old Town Road, Unit 301.
