Man Charged for Christmas Morning Incident

He is due to return to court next month.

A Vernon man is facing breach of peace and reckless endangerment charges - both in the second degree - for an altercation with a woman on Christmas morning, police said.

A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Jonathan Castillo, 24, of 1238 Hartford Turnpike, Apt. 76. He surrendered to authorities at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

He appeared in court later that day and had his case continued to Feb. 5, court records indicate. His initial bond of $10,000 was reduced to a promise to appear in court, and he is no longer in custody, according to judicial system records.
