Man Charged After Theft, Fight

Police said a Rockville liquor store was robbed.

A Vernon man is facing larceny and robbery charges related to a pair of incidents both on the street and at a Rockville business on Thursday, according to a police report.

At 6:27 p.m., officers on patrol responded to a fight that broke out on Brooklyn Street, an arrest report indicates.

A subsequent investigation revealed that one of those involved, Jacky Williams, had been chased down by a clerk at the Rockville Discount Liquor Store after a robbery, the report indicates.

Williams, 21, lives at 1170 Hartford Turnpike, Apt. G82, police said.

He has been charged with second-degree breach of peace, sixth-degree larceny and third-degree robbery, police said. He spent the night in the lockup on a $2,500 bond while awaiting a court appearance, police said.
