Man Charged After Family Fight

He was damaging property on Main Street, police said.

A 28-year-old Vernon man was taken into custody after going on a rampage during a family argument, police said.

According to an arrest report, police were called to 92 Main St., Apt. B at 8:56 a.m. on Monday. Luis Rivera was involved in a verbal argument with family members, but became increasingly confrontational.

He then began damaging the property of family members and his landlord, police said. He then began assaulting family members, police said.

He was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal mischief and interfering with police, an arrest report indicates.
