Man Charged After Alleged Serious Choke Hold

It started as a domestic incident, police said.

A Vernon man allegedly put a choke hold on another person during a domestic squabble at a Rockville apartment complex, a police report indicates.

Kevin Lee King, 48, of 17 Regan St., was charged with third-degree assault and third-degree strangulation after he was taken into custody at his residence at 3:32 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Police said the call came in as someone having been strangled. When they arrived at the Vernon Pines housing complex, and investigation led to King choking the victim until the victim could not breathe, according to an arrest report.

Lee was held overnight and was to appear in court on Thursday, police said.
