Man Causes a Scene at High School Before Being Arrested

The man tried to damage property and was running through the hallways, police said.

An 18-year-old Vernon man was trespassing at Rockville High School and caused a disturbance on the property in the middle of the school day on Monday before being arrested, police said.

Police did not identify the man as a student.

At 10:50 a.m. on Monday, Tyler Graffam, 18, of 93 1/2 Grand Ave., was trespassing at RHS when he was confronted by school staff members, police said.

Graffam began yelling at the staff members and then ran through the hallways, according to an arrest report. He was located and again confronted by staff members, this time along with police, the arrest report indicates.

Graffam attempted to damage school property before exiting the building and then began to fight with police and members of the RHS security staff, police said.

He was then taken into custody and charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree criminal trespass, and interfering with police, according to an arrest report.

He is due in court on Feb. 7, police said.

Police did not indicate why Graffam might have been on school property.
