Homeless man Charged After Incident at Supermarket

Police said he threw an object through a window at a Stop & Shop.

A homeless man was charged with burglary after he was seen throwing something through a window at Windsorville Road Stop & Shop early Wednesday morning, police said.

Police said the call came in at 12:24 a.m. and that Casey Speers, 42, fled on a bicycle after the incident.

Speers was located a short distance away and was taken into custody, police said.

The burglary charge was in the third-degree, police said.

Speers was also charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal trespass.

He was held overnight on a $10,000 bond and was to appear in court Wednesday, police said.
