Guns Recovered From Truck Stolen in Vernon, Police Said

A Manchester man is facing charges, police said.

Vernon police have cracked a portion of the case involving vehicular mischief along the Tunnel Road corridor on Labor Day weekend with the arrest of a Manchester man.

Thieves rummaged through several cars in the area that weekend, police said initially.

On Thursday, a police spokesman said a 2003 Toyota truck - in which three firearms had been stored - was also taken from Scott Drive.

Vernon police on Tuesday charged 19-year-old Zachary Goodrich, of 214 Spruce St., Manchester, with three counts of both third-degree larceny and conspiracy to steal a firearm, according to an arrest report.

On Sept. 4, the truck was located on Fairfield Street in Manchester, police said.

The following day, Vernon detectives and Manchester police executed a search warrant at a Ridge Street residence in Manchester and found a 12-gauge shotgun, a .22-cal. rifle and a BB gun that had been in the truck, according to an arrest report.

Vernon police said another arrest is expected in the case.
