Disorderly Incidents Keep Police Busy on Fireworks Night

Six people taken into custody.

The fireworks night hooligan crowd featured an all-star lineup on Thursday.

At least in terms of what towns were represented in the Vernon Police Department lockup.

The cleanup batter was a 33-year-old Springfield resident who was arrested after an altercation at the July in the Sky celebration. Police said that Nathaniel Lee Flint, of 79 Kirk Drive, Springfield, was taken into custody at 10:56 p.m. Parking volunteers called police and said Flint was threatening them.

The attendant told Flint he could not proceed in a certain direction and Flint proceeded to yell at the attendant, according to an arrest report. Flint then drove forward a short distance and ''bumped'' the attendant, according to an arrest report.

The attendant was not injured but Flint was charged with disorderly conduct. Bond was set at $1,500 and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 12.
