Detectives Charge Vernon Man With Offenses Related to Child Porn

The investigation was ongoing for a year, police said.

A Vernon man was taken into custody on Thursday afternoon on child pornography charges, police said in a news release.

At about 4:30 p.m., Vernon police detectives arrested Attila Csoka, 53, of 4 Dailey Circle, police said.

Police said he is charged with the following:

• First-degree possession of child pornography.
• Importing child pornography.
• Promoting a child in an obscene performance.

The arrest of Csoka stems from a year-long investigation that began in January 2012 after Vernon police were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Csoka may be involved in child pornography, according to a news release.

The investigation was conducted by the department’s computer crimes detective. The investigation by Vernon detectives uncovered evidence that Csoka was in possession of "a large amount of child pornography," according to a news release.

Csoka was charged on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Rockville Superior Court, police said. He was being held Thursday night in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Friday, police said.

Csoka surrendered to detectives after learning of the warrant, police said.
