The Coventry Police Department, along with other local officers in the Metro Traffic Services network, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Boston Turnpike starting Friday, Nov. 30, at 6 p.m.
The checkpoint is scheduled to run until 2 a.m. Saturday.
Traffic in both directions will be affected, police said.
The checkpoint is being funded by a grant from the state Department of Transportation.
Metro Traffic Services is made up of officers from the Coventry, Enfield, South Windsor, Windsor, Windsor Locks, East Windsor, Manchester, Glastonbury and Vernon police departments.
