Chief: Angellino's OK After Sunday Night Fire

The fire at Angellino's restaurant was isolated to a section of roof, the fire chief said.

A fire broke out at a popular Italian restaurant just after 11 on Sunday night, but the damage to the building was minor, the fire chief said on Monday.

Fire Chief William Call said the blaze at Angellino's restaurant was put out quickly and was isolated to a section of roof where some decorative lighting malfunctioned.

He said the property was inspected by the fire marshal and that the restaurant would be open for business on Monday.

"We were able to get to the fire early enough to prevent any major damage," Call said.

Angellino's is located at 346 Kelly Road near Vernon Circle. It is next to the Holiday Inn Express and a side entrance to the Tri-City Plaza shopping center. It specializes in Italian cuisine.
