A car hopped a sidewalk and crashed into a side door at the Vernon CVS just before noon on Monday.
A police officer at the scene said the driver mistakenly stepped on the accelerator.
No injuries were reported but a firefighter had an anxious moment when she arrived at the scene. Her mom's car was parked right
next to the offending vehicle. It did not appear to be damaged.
Town officials were inspecting the damage early Monday afternoon. The store is located at 142 Talcottville Rd.
