Vernon Woman and Her 3 Boys Found Safe in Maine [Updated]

A multi-state Amber Alert issued Tuesday morning for Jackie Morris and her three boys has been cancelled after they were located in Bangor, Maine.

Morris, 32, of Vernon, and the boys are safe and in good condition, Vernon Police Det. James Grady told the Hartford Courant.

The kids and Morris were found in a hotel, multiple news outlets are reporting. Police said Morris does not have custody of her children, and did not return them to their biological father after a scheduled visit.

While police said there was no reason to believe the brothers were in physical danger, the boys — Ryan, 9, and 7-year-old twins Brandon and Dylan — did not show up at school on Monday or Tuesday of this week. And Connecticut State Police changed an initial Silver Alert to an Amber Alert because of the mother's mental health.

Morris was reportedly driving a Red 2004 Jetta with Connecticut license plate 876-YGJ, and has ties to Massachusetts and Maine.

Charges were not immediately filed against Morris, but could come after consultation with the state attorney's office, NBC Connecticut reports.
